Ladies We Love: Hayley

You might have seen our friend, Hayley Angell, popping up on the Rose & Thorne social media pages lately. She's the bubbly, vivacious, one-of-a-kind speaker and entertainer whose body-positive messages and life-of-the-party attitude is truely infectious. We sat down to ask her a few questions...

What's your name, bra size and secret power?

Hayleyn Angell, 14D, making others laugh.

What makes you the happiest in life?

Time with my wonderful wife Lisa and spoiled Labradoodle, Hettie. Travel is our great shared passion - even Hettie has a passport :)

Who inspires you the most and why?

Everyday heroes. The people that don't take themselves too seriously, don't buy into the bullshit and who help bring some good to the world and the people around them.

What is your favourite thing about yourself?

My sense of fun.

What is your favourite way to get your body moving and grooving?

Crank the tunes, we got a date for the D-Floor!

What do you do for yourself?

I sew, charity shop and take long walks on the beach.

What has been your biggest body struggle?

Finally realising, and then admitting, that I look good! I kind of always assumed as a big girl that I couldn't be proud of my body or think I was sexy...even though, on some level, I'm sure I thought I was. I had a light-bulb moment when my Mum (in her late-50s at the time) was fussing over how she looked in some swimmers and I thought gosh, if I don't gt a grip and embrace my body right now, when will I?? 50? 60? 90? Never? Whatever the answer, it was too damn long to wait. Stuff the hang-ups girl, life is short! Get in it!

What do you do to boost your body confidence on days you're feeling down about your body?

Get in my knickers and shake my jiggle on Instagram! lol. There's nothing better to beat the body blues than getting a reality check, having a laugh and reminding yourself how lucky you are to be blessed with a body that runs or wheels and dances through life.

What's the best thing about being a woman?

Having a head and heart for others.

What is beauty to you?

A strong sense of self.

What's the best piece of advice you've heard or received about body confidence?

Today you are the youngest you'll ever be. Don't waste another second.
